Application Requirements
Students must submit the following, typed, to their school Guidance Department. On each sheet include your name and school.
1. CANDIDATE PROFILE ( Download Template)
2. TWO APPLICATION ESSAYS
3. COMMUNITY/SCHOOL ACTIVITIES SUMMARY
Provide two letters of recommendation from persons familiar with you. The letters should comment on your strengths and qualifications for the Giddings Scholarship, specifically focusing on leadership skills you have exhibited either in school or in the community.
5. COPY OF HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT
The academic transcripts for the candidate provided by the school summarizing performance through the date of application.
Students must apply through their individual schools using a selection process implemented by the Guidance Department. The Foundation reviews only those applications nominated by each school and will not consider any direct solicitation by a candidate. Recipients are notified of the Foundation awards in May of each calendar year.

3. COMMUNITY/SCHOOL ACTIVITIES SUMMARY
- Describe school activities in which you have participated, including the grade levels and whether this is a one time, weekly, or other time commitment.
- Describe other community and civic activities, groups, events or other efforts in which you have been involved, including the grade levels and whether this is a one time, weekly, or other time commitment.
- Identify any work experience you have either during the school year or during vacation time.
- Summarize any awards, honors or recognitions you have received either in the community, church or school.
